The City of Paris sees the Dot Paris effort as an opportunity to enhance the city’s image, as well as to promote investments and economic actors. The establishment of this new extension is a continuation of policy development and innovation undertaken by Paris’ infrastructure and digital services.
The City of Paris takes an active part in the creation of its own city domain to ensure the proper management of the new extension. This will not only strengthen the rights of the city on its name but also enhance the economic and social action of all partners and local actors. Unfortunately, the RFP that determined who would provide the technical infrastructure to operate the top level domain was not widely dispersed, allowing for little competition.
