Potential registrants such as a local craftsperson, a well established business, a start-up, public administrators, or a private individual can display their strong ties to and love for the city of Cologne.
During 2010 the .köln group hopes their initiative will offer the opportunity to those with ties to Köln to register an internet domain with the ending “.köln” to express their “kölnness” on the internet.
